Memorial day fun

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. At least that's what the Shining taught me. Here's some pictures of what we were doing when we should have been working.

Making some progress

Memorial day weekend and we got 2 days of work in. Have to admit that we did a lot of playing instead of working but still made some progress. Marked out the site and got the post holes started. 2 of 13 complete. 4 feet deep. Luckily the soil is sandy and easy digging. Only problem is the roots. Fell another 3 trees and got about 6 peeled. Dad and the log wizard were real saviors on this part. I severely underestimated how much time the peeling would take. Headed back up this weekend to finish digging post holes and peel as many logs as I can.

Nora's Dance Recital

Here are the videos from Nora's dance recital a few weeks ago. She definitely didn't learn those moves from me.

Getting Started

Got started this weekend. Put in about 12 hours between Saturday and Sunday. Got about 20 logs down and 16 of them pulled out and off the ground. Next weekend we've got to get the other 4-5 out of the woods and maybe fall a few more. Lots of peeling ahead. Don't think this project would be possible without Walt and Terry. Terry's John Deere was invaluable.
